21. What is Ash drinking in that scene?

Ridley Scott: This is one of the humorous touches in the film. At the end of the previous scene, you’ve seen it drink milk, or some liquid with which it feeds its circuits. The drop that appears on its forehead is an alarm signal, a way of warning the audience that something is going wrong …. and I always thought that it was interesting that er, do humanoids have sexual urges, what would be nice is that this is the closest he gets to sexual relationhsips (smirk)

John Howard Carpenter (born January 16, 1948) is an American film director, screenwriter, producer, editor and composer. Although Carpenter has worked in numerous film genres, he is most commonly associated with horror and science fiction films from the 1970s and 1980s.[1]

Most films in Carpenter’s career were commercial failures, with the notable exceptions of Halloween (1978), Escape from New York (1981) and Starman (1984). However, many of Carpenter’s films from the 1970s and the 1980s, such as Dark Star (1974), Assault on Precinct 13 (1976), The Fog (1980), The Thing (1982), Christine (1983), Big Trouble in Little China(1986), Prince of Darkness (1987) and They Live (1988), have come to be viewed as cult classics, and Carpenter has been acknowledged as an influential filmmaker.

Chekhov’s gun is a dramatic principle that requires every element in a narrative to be irreplaceable, with anything else removed.[1][2][3]

Remove everything that has no relevance to the story. If you say in the first chapter that there is a rifle hanging on the wall, in the second or third chapter it absolutely must go off. If it’s not going to be fired, it shouldn’t be hanging there.

based on: “The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is an American television series broadcast on NBC from September 22, 1964, to January 15, 1968. It follows secret agents, played by Robert Vaughn and David McCallum, who work for a secret international counter espionage and law-enforcement agency called U.N.C.L.E. Originally, co-creator Sam Rolfe wanted to leave the meaning of U.N.C.L.E. ambiguous so it could refer to either “Uncle Sam” or the United Nations.[1] Concerns by the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer legal department about using “U.N.” for commercial purposes resulted in the producers’ clarification that U.N.C.L.E. was an acronym for the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement.[2] Each episode had an “acknowledgement” to the U.N.C.L.E. on the end titles.”

6. “Virginity is the state of a person who has never engaged in sexual intercourse.[1][2] There are cultural and religious traditions which place special value and significance on this state, especially in the case of unmarried females, associated with notions of personal purity, honor and worth.”

7. “The Aristocrats” (also called “The Debonaires” or “The Sophisticates” in some tellings) is a taboo-defying off-color joke that has been told by numerous stand-up comedians since the vaudeville era. Over time it has evolved from a clichéd staple of vaudevillian humor into a postmodern anti-joke. Steven Wright has likened it to asecret handshake among comedians, and it is seen as something of a game in which those who tell it try this to top each other in terms of shock value. It is thought of as a badge of honor among expert comedians and is notoriously hard to perform successfully. It is rarely told the same way twice, often improvised.[citation needed]

The joke was the subject of a 2005 documentary film of the same name. It received publicity when it was used by Gilbert Gottfried during the Friars’ Club roast of Hugh Hefner in September 2001.”

37. “Another major clue for me that this movie was doomed was its running time of 100 minutes. Why? Because when you have a film like this – a reboot, where it has to introduce various new characters, set them up and a new premise/universe, the movie isn’t going to be an hour and a half long. It’s going to be two hours. Those extra twenty- thirty minutes can make a difference. For the record, the first two Fantastic Four movies had around the same running time. The original film was only six minutes longer. But that movie wasn’t the best one, either.”

52. Doom in real life

“Doctor Doom is a polymath and scientific genius. Throughout most of his publication history, he has been depicted as one of the most intelligent humans in the Marvel Universe. This is shown on many occasions, most famously by actually curing Ben Grimm of his Thing form, which Reed Richards has never repeated.[81] On the other hand, Reed Richards managed to process all the computer calculations necessary to save the life of a disintegrating Kitty Pryde by himself, which is a feat that Doctor Doom at the time professed to be unable to do.[82]

Doctor Doom also possesses originally minor mystical capabilities due to teachings from Tibetan monks, but later increased them to a considerable extent due to tutoring from his lover Morgan Le Fay. He is capable of energy projection, creating protective shields, and summoning hordes of demonic creatures.[83] Even at a time his abilities were consistently referred to as minor, with assistance from his technology and by tag-teaming with Doctor Strange, Doctor Doom managed to come second in a magic tournament held by the ancient sorcerer the Aged Genghis.[84]

Doctor Doom has also used his scientific talents to steal or replicate the power of other beings such as the Silver Surfer, or in one case the entity Galactus‘ world-ship.[85]

26: “Vampirella is a fictional character, a comic book vampire superheroine created by Forrest J Ackerman and costume designer Trina Robbins in Warren Publishing‘s black-and-white horror comics magazine Vampirella #1 (Sept. 1969). Writer-editor Archie Goodwin later developed the character from horror-story hostess, in which capacity she remained through issue #8 (Nov. 1970), to a horror-drama leading character. Vampirella was ranked 35th in Comics Buyer’s Guide‘s “100 Sexiest Women in Comics” list.[1]

what Vampirella even did: she was a space vampire thingy

“Vampirella was originally presented as an inhabitant of the planet Drakulon, a world where a vampiric race lived on blood and where blood flowed in rivers. Drakulon orbits twin suns that were causing droughts across the planet, marking certain doom for Vampirella and her race. The race of which Vampirella was born, the Vampiri, were able to transform themselves into bats at will, possessed superhuman physical attributes, sprout wings when required to fly, and drink blood.”

Vampirella possesses many of the typical powers of mythological vampires. She exerts super-strength when facing her opponents and can move so fast that she appears as a blur of motion.[14][15] Her senses are far beyond those of humans, allowing her to tell ones emotional state through their scent, hear things imperceptible to humans, and see clearly in total darkness.[14] She is very athletic, possessing great stamina, reflexes, and agility beyond that of humans. Her healing factor grants her great resilience and allows her to heal rapidly from her wounds and makes her immune to Earthly illness and toxins.”

42: I was talking about this

Superman/Batman was a monthly comic book series published by DC Comics that features the publisher’s two most popular characters: Superman and Batman.Superman/Batman premiered in August 2003 and was an update of the previous series, World’s Finest Comics, in which Superman and Batman regularly joined forces.

Superman/Batman explored the camaraderie, antagonism, and friendship between its titular characters. Jeph Loeb, the series’ first writer, introduced a dual-narratortechnique to present the characters’ often opposing viewpoints and estimations of each other, which subsequent series writers have maintained. Before the 1985limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths, the two iconic characters were depicted as the best of friends. Frank Miller‘s landmark series The Dark Knight Returns was the first DC story that depicts the heroes at odds with each other, as opposed to pre-Crisis incarnations. This dynamic became DC Universe canon with John Byrne‘s The Man of Steel, a Superman reboot published in 1986.”

“Reed Richards gained the power of elasticity from irradiation by cosmic rays. He has the ability to convert his entire body into a highly malleable state at will, allowing him to stretch, deform, and reform himself into virtually any shape. Reed Richards has been observed as being able to utilize his stretching form in a variety of offensive and defensive manners, such as compressing himself into a ball and ricocheting into enemies, or flattening himself into a trampoline or a parachute to rescue a teammate. He can willfully reduce his body’s cohesion until he reaches a fluid state, which can flow through minute openings. Reed is also able to shape his hands into hammer and mace style weapons, and concentrate his mass into his fists to increase their density and effectiveness as weapons.”

Goyer, who had written all three films in the franchise, was then selected to replace the original director of the film, which Snipes protested. Snipes reportedly caused difficulty during filming, including frequently refusing to shoot scenes, often forcing director Goyer to use stand-ins and computer effects to add his character to scenes. Co-star Patton Oswalt alleged that Snipes would spend much of his time smoking marijuana in his trailer, and that he had become violent with Goyer after falsely accusing him of racism. It has also been alleged that Snipes refused to interact with Goyer or his co-stars, and would instead communicate with them through his assistant or the use of notes. Snipes also allegedly referred to co-star Ryan Reynolds by the term “cracker” on one or more occasions.[2][3]

77: “Doctor Victor von Doom is a fictional supervillain that appears in publications by Marvel Comics. The son of Romani witch Cynthia Von Doom, Doctor Doom is a recurring archenemy of the Fantastic Four, and leader of the fictional nation of Latveria. He is both a genius inventor and a sorcerer. While his chief opponents have been the Fantastic Four, he has also come into conflict with the Avengers and other superheroes in the Marvel Universe.

Doctor Doom has made many appearances in video games, television series, and merchandise such as action figures and trading cards. He was ranked as the 4th Greatest Villain by Wizard on its 100 Greatest Villains of All Time list.[2] IGN‘s list of the Top 100 Comic Book Villains of All Time ranked Doctor Doom as #3.[3]

Doctor Doom has also been featured in other Marvel-endorsed feature films such as The Fantastic Four played by Joseph Culp, while actor Julian McMahon played him in the 2005 film Fantastic Four and its 2007 sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer as the film’s antagonist. Toby Kebbell will portray the character in the upcoming 2015 reboot.[4]

78: My Doom origin retelling is on point…….but he wasnt the son of a king. my bad.

79: “Doctor Doom is a polymath and scientific genius.

Doctor Doom has also used his scientific talents to steal or replicate the power of other beings such as the Silver Surfer, or in one case the entity Galactus‘ world-ship.”

so yeah that will be cool, Stan Lee will be there taking credit for things that Jack Kirby created, Brett Dalton (whoever that is) from Agents of Shield, and um yo guys. ROSE TYLER. ROSE TYLER (from my favorite season of Dr. Who) aka former British Pop star Billie Piper, and lots of other people who I assume have nothing to do with comics. But theres also comics people there like Brian Azzarello, J. Bone, Tim Bradstreet, Frank Cho, Evan Dorkin, Tim Sale (!!!) Kurtis Weibe, and many more (I assume.) I also hear that Nick Masone may be selling his ticket for many dollars (but its VIP so you know, $$$.)

anyway thats cool

BUT ALSO: following that we have two more cons in the area which are okay (but not as starry eyed making as in the Bean: which is what I will now call Boston.)

BILLY DEE WILLIAMS. Thats really all I have to say. Lando will be there. Also two bitplayers from Aliens and a “famous” cosplayer. BUT! This is still a really good con. Im always amazed when people rate conventions on guests; if everything is overpriced and over crowded because stan lee is there. Granite Con is a great one though small.

If you really like Sons of Anarchy, then RICC is for you. They have like five people, none of whom I know. Also there is that old guy from walking dead. and Margot Kidder. and mother fucking Dean Cain. and I guess the SOup Nazi too. Anyway it looks like a great con with a bit more guests than Granite Con, and I will probably be checking it out.

thats it. no more news. oh I guess, read ms marvel. thats really good.

see you on the internette
